Milwaukee home catches fire near 15th and Lincoln

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A residential fire broke out early Wednesday, Feb. 7, in a two-story house located near 15th and Lincoln in Milwaukee, according to the Milwaukee Fire Department.

MFD tells CBS 58 that they received the initial call about the fire at around 6:15 a.m.

It quickly spread from the upper floors to the attic, prompting firefighters to adopt a defensive strategy.

Responders conducted a thorough search of the unoccupied house and confirmed all levels were clear. The fire took approximately 45 minutes to bring under control. As of Wednesday morning, MFD remains on the scene.

No injuries have been reported. The fire, once extinguished, will be handed over to the Milwaukee Police Department and fire investigators to determine what caused it to start.
