MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee is experiencing a vibrant celebration of Latin culture with the Mi Gente Latin Beach Festival, held Saturday, Aug. 17 at Bradford Beach.
The event began early Saturday, featuring Latin music, dance, food and activities for children, including a bounce house.
Roberto Jaimes, a co-organizer of the festival, highlighted the significance of cultural pride at the event.
"I think our pride comes from our parents. For me personally, it's seeing the sacrifices they made for us and just for our country. As you see, we put the flags on the stage, so everyone feels welcome and not excluded," Jaimes said.
The event was hosted for free by Mi Gente, with organizers aiming to bring together people from all parts of Milwaukee.
