Milwaukee man charged in east side burglary accused of firing gun in home, attempting to sexually assault victim
MCSO MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Charges are now filed against a Milwaukee man accused of breaking into a home on the city's east side, firing a gun inside, and attempting to sexually assault someone the morning of Feb. 26.
Prosecutors say the man, identified as 26-year-old Sincere Blake, approached a repairman outside the home near Terrace and Kenilworth around 9 a.m. and asked how many people were inside. Court documents say the man recalled the defendant had his hand in his sweatshirt, and reportedly said, "I'm going to (expletive) this shit up," before ordering the man to leave.
One person in the home at the time told investigators she was in a room on the second floor when a stranger she described as a large man with a black handgun, slurred speech, red eyes, and a joint in his mouth appeared, according to the criminal complaint.
The complaint alleges at one point, another person in the house screamed, and Blake fired a round into the window above her head before pointing the gun toward both people. Prosecutors say he then exposed himself and attempted to sexually assault one of them.
When police arrived, the complaint says Blake was in the driveway with one of the victims, allegedly preparing to take her vehicle. Officers issued demands, which they say Blake refused to follow. He was arrested in possession of a loaded Glock that police determined was stolen.
When questioned, Blake told investigators he'd taken ecstasy that morning and that work wasn't going well, so he left to go to the lakefront. He identified himself in surveillance footage, according to the complaint, but claimed he didn't remember firing a weapon.
Blake is charged with attempted first-degree sexual assault, armed burglary, second-degree recklessly endangering safety, false imprisonment, and possession of a firearm as a felon.
Records show he was sentenced to two years of probation in September of 2024 after pleading guilty to possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver.
Blake appeared in court for an initial appearance Wednesday afternoon. Cash bond was set at $50,000.
A preliminary hearing is set for March 11.
