Milwaukee man charged in fatal shooting of woman in McDonald's parking lot

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A 42-year-old Milwaukee man is accused of fatally shooting a woman in a McDonald's parking lot and fleeing the scene. 

Raymond Willis is facing the following: 

  • First-degree reckless homicide, use of a dangerous weapon
  • Possession of a firearm by a felon

The shooting happened June 13, around 4 a.m. 

A criminal complaint says, police responded to Villard and Teutonia and located Rosalind Rogers deceased from a gunshot wound to her head. 

The complaint says, surveillance video from the McDonald's restaurant captured the shooting and investigators centered in on an older model Chevy Caprice. Officials say prior to the homicide, the vehicle was captured stopping at an apartment building near 35th and Villard. 

According to the complaint, detectives went to the apartment building near 35th and Villard on June 17. During an interview, the landlord reportedly told investigators the vehicle in the pictures belongs to Willis, one of his tenants. The landlord, according to the complaint, told officials Willis told them to tell the police that he had sold his vehicle one week ago. 

On June 19, authorities interviewed Willis and according to the complaint, identified himself in the surveillance pictures and the car as being his. 

Willis' bond was set at $200,000. He's due in court for a preliminary hearing on July 2.
