Lexus Ford of Milwaukee faces charges including reckless homicide, reckless injury and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Police say they responded to a shooting near 26th and Walnut at around 3:46 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 28, and found 39-year-old Michael T. Jackson of Milwaukee dead from multiple gunshot wounds. Police also report that a second man was shot in the lower part of his body and taken to a hospital.

According to the complaint, detectives used surveillance video and Flock camera technology to trace a vehicle from the scene back to Ford. Ford's ex-girlfriend is cited in the complaint as telling detectives that Ford called her the night of the shooting and said his Jeep had been stolen and that he had "shot" someone that he hurt, also being quoted as saying he "fucked up."

In his own interview with detectives, Ford reportedly said he later found the Jeep and saw Jackson among people removing property from it, and that he was armed with a gun that had also been inside the vehicle, the complaint states.

The second man who was shot is cited in the complaint as having been speaking with Jackson before they separated and around 7 or 8 gunshots were heard.

Ford was already free on bail in a separate Waukesha County drug case at the time of the shooting. He is expected to make his initial court appearance on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
