Milwaukee man charged in triple shooting near Brady Street that killed 27-year-old man

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee man has been charged in a triple shooting near Brady Street that left one dead and two others injured.

According to the criminal complaint, Tawon Coleman admitted to firing shots at 27-year-old Marquez Banyard, who died of his injuries.

Prosecutors say Coleman told authorities he'd seen Banyard at a bar about a week earlier and got into an argument with him. According to the complaint, Coleman told detectives he saw the victim at Mango's Bar on June 23 and intended to confront him, admitting to firing shots at Banyard before giving the gun to someone else and fleeing the scene. 

Surveillance video recovered from Van Buren and Brady Street shows two suspects walking northbound toward a vehicle, according to the complaint, before one of the suspects is seen firing a gun into the car and fleeing southbound. 

Banyard was pronounced dead after being transported to an area hospital. Two others in the car were wounded and treated for their injuries. 

Coleman is charged with first degree intentional homicide and two counts first degree reckless injury. 

Court records show bond has been set at $750,000. A preliminary hearing is set for July 13.
