Milwaukee man convicted in homicide of 20-year-old woman found dead in alley

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A man has been convicted in the murder of a Milwaukee woman from more than a year ago. 

Sultan Shareef was found guilty Monday of first-degree intentional homicide and mutilating a corpse as a party to a crime.

Police say he spent time with 20-year-old Kania Brunson on Sept. 24 of 2022, the day she was found dead. 

Officials say they found Brunson had been tied, shot and then set on fire. 

Shareef's sentencing hearing is scheduled for next month.
