Milwaukee man pleads guilty in reckless driving crash that killed local pastor

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee man charged in the death of a local pastor pleaded guilty in court Friday, Feb. 24.

Jose Silva, 23, was convicted of homicide by use of a vehicle with PAC (prohibited alcohol concentration) after speeding through a red light and crashing into the pastor's car near 10th and Wells in October 2022.

The victim was identified as 40-year-old Aaron Strong, a faith leader at Grace Lutheran church in downtown Milwaukee.

He was reportedly driving from his home to the church office at the time of the incident.

A sentencing hearing has been set for April 20.
