Rachel Vasquez of Shorewood shows off her bold makeup line with Rachel V Cosmetics

 

SHOREWOOD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Rachel Vasquez is known for making bold choices. From her lipstick colors to starting her own business venture in the beauty industry. 

"My lipstick line is my baby. So, it has over 17 colors. We also have skincare. I have my own turmeric skincare line under Rachel V Cosmetics," said Vasquez. "I have come up with a formula where it lasts for over 14 hours. I don't have to touch it up. It's not smudging all over my face when I'm having conversations. When I'm drinking or networking, I don't have to worry about it being on my teeth or being on my glass." 

She started Rachel V Cosmetics five years ago. Today, it's grown from a beauty line to much more. She has her own spa in Shorewood, a place to sell her makeup but also offer facials and waxes to customers. She says it's all to support women in work and in self-care. 

"We like to put ourselves on the backburner because we become moms, we become wives, we become workers, we become all those things that make us forget that we need to take care of ourselves first," she said. 

Another part of her goal is to support other entrepreneurs in the beauty business. While she offers waxing and skincare in her suite, others offer makeup application, eyelashes, seamstress services and more. 

She's using her work to accentuate women's best features, inside and out.
