Milwaukee man receives refurbished SUV at Brewers game

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee man working to rebuild his life was presented with a refurbished vehicle before the Brewers game against the Los Angeles Dodgers Tuesday, July 8, at American Family Field.
Dontae Exford received the 2022 Toyota 4Runner through the National Auto Body Council Recycled Rides program with support from American Family Insurance and Gerber Collision & Glass in Racine.
Exford, who was homeless for nearly two years after the pandemic, was nominated by Community Advocates for his efforts to overcome adversity.
Organizers said Exford’s new vehicle will help him commute to work, visit his daughter in another state and volunteer to support others in need. He hopes to launch a truck driving company to employ people managing depression, sharing his belief that hard work and determination can change lives in a similar way to how his life has improved.
