Milwaukee police: 2-year-old girl fatally shot near 105th and Daphne

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police say a 2-year-old girl was killed in a shooting near 105th and Daphne Tuesday night.

Police say it happened around 7:23 p.m.

The victim was pronounced deceased while being transported to the hospital by the Milwaukee Fire Department. 

The circumstances that led up to the shooting are under investigation.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County medical examiner has been called for the death of a 2-year-old near 105th and Daphne Tuesday night, July 21.

The Medical Examiner's Office says an autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday, and Milwaukee police are investigating.

A neighbor in the area said she was in her home when she heard people yelling that a baby was shot.

She said she went outside and people were running away as if a shooting had just happened.

"You could hear a lady yelling 'can you call the ambulance, a baby got shot,'" she said. "You watch small children play, you never want to watch small children leave off in a stretcher."
