Protesters line freeway overpasses in opposition to proposed federal cuts

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Drivers traveling through Milwaukee on Saturday, April 19 may have noticed protesters gathered on overpasses along I-43 and I-94.

The demonstration was part of a national protest movement responding to efforts by the Trump administration to reduce funding for federal programs. The event was organized by Indivisible, a progressive political group with local and national chapters.

Andy Guss, a member of Indivisible Wisconsin, said, "The biggest thing outside of public demonstration is calling your congressman, calling your government officials, letting them know that this is a big issue for us and that we need to be heard."

Saturday’s demonstration followed similar "Hands Off" protests held earlier this month, which included marches in downtown Milwaukee and across the country.
