Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District issues water drop alert amid Saturday rain

istock/BlackJack3D MILWAUKEE, (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District has issued a water drop alert in response to Saturday's ongoing rain.
MMSD is asking people to please limit water use until the storm passes to reduce the risk of basement backups.
As of 12:45 p.m., MMSD says half of the district's 20 rain gauges are showing more than three inches of rain since Friday.
And the South Shore Water Reclamation Facility is operating at half capacity due to ongoing construction.
