Milwaukee Milkmen host All-Star Game at Franklin Field
FRANKLIN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- On Tuesday night, Franklin Field, in Franklin, Wisconsin, hosted an All-Star Game where fans showing support shouted, "Moo!"
Milkmen shirts and hats filled the stadium as fans from all over gathered to watch the best of the best in the American Association of Independent Baseball.
"They're so good, and it's kind of like, that they're like superstars," said William Gwinner, baseball fan.
William Gwinner and his mom are here from Oklahoma.
"One, two, three, go Milkmen!"
With a light breeze and temps hovering around 70, you couldn't ask for better baseball weather.
"Man, I'll tell you, it's professional baseball, for, you know, a third of the cost of Major League Baseball, which is helpful for a lot of families," said Corey Webster, Milkmen fan.
Corey Webster and Harry Roberts have been to nearly all the Milkmen games this year.
"I think it's outstanding, just watching all the people that are on the team. There's like language barriers that don't seem to be an issue at all," said Roberts.
They're part of Curtis Ambulance and show up to games in eye-catching shirts.
"So, we've got Curtis Ambulance here. We've got Milkmen here, with my name, with 911 'cause that's who to call. So, it's great time and we love these shirts," said Webster.
Owen Thompson's here with his grandma from New York, extra excited to be here.
"My cousin pitches," Thompson said.
"How exciting is it for you to be here to watch your cousin play?"
"Great," said Thompson.
The All-Star Game was held in Chicago last year. The Milkmen's VP told us he was thrilled to have the All-Star game here, seeing it as an opportunity to show off Franklin Field.
