Milwaukee nearing record for most homicides in the city in 1 year

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee is on the verge of breaking a terrible record -- the most murders in a single year.

Milwaukee police report 189 homicides through Monday, Dec. 13.

The record, set last year, was 190.

The most recent case happened Monday night when a 65-year-old man was shot to death at Sherman and Villard.

This would be two years in a row in which the city has broken a record for deadly violence.
