18-year-old killed in crash near Sherman and Villard identified; driver arrested

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the teenager killed in a crash at Sherman and Villard as 18-year-old Damarius McCray.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- An 18-year-old man is dead following a crash near Sherman Boulevard and Villard Avenue on Tuesday, Jan. 17. 

According to police, it happened around 11:43 a.m.

Officials say another vehicle, driven by an 18-year-old, disregarded a red light and was hit. The occupants of the striking vehicle fled on foot and later returned to the scene. 

The driver of the vehicle that was struck was transported to a local hospital where he died. 

The driver of the striking vehicle, an 18-year-old Milwaukee man, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-fatal injuries and was arrested. 

A passenger of the striking vehicle, a 16-year-old boy, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-fatal injuries. 

Criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the upcoming days.
