Milwaukee Police Association files suit against city over gun safety concerns

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Police Association (MPA) has filed a lawsuit against the city of Milwaukee for providing officers with guns that it says have a history of discharging by themselves.

The MPA believes the city knows about the flaws about the guns and continues to ignore officers' safety concerns.

There have been three incidents of guns going off by themselves over the past few years.

The most recent incident earlier this month left an officer injured after a gun went off in another officer's holster.
