A boost in temperatures despite the lack of sunshine
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Police Department is currently investigating a shooting where a 7-year old boy was shot. They are looking for any suspects in this case.
The boy is in stable condition at the hospital.
The shooting happened near 39th and Hampton around 9:30 p.m. on Monday evening. It doesn't appear the child was the intended target, according to police.
Tommy Dye lives just a few houses down from the boy's house. He said he was watching television when he heard a gunshot.
"I walked out again and I seen the father of the child," Dye said. "He ran out in the street and flagged down the police officer and that's when I discovered his son had been shot through the window or something."
"I was like 'wow'. I just start praying then for young people," he said. "They need to come to their senses, shooting through people's houses you don't know who you're going to hit. It's just crazy."
Dye said the young boy rides his bike after school and he describes him as a "tough little guy."
"When he passes by I say, 'how are you doing?' and he says, 'what’s up?' And I say, 'my man you’re one of the good guys," Dye said. "I pray that he’ll be alright, that his mom, dad and family be alright.”
