NOW: Milwaukee police seek suspect in gas station shooting near 64th and Silver Spring

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — Milwaukee police are asking for the public's help identifying a suspect after an argument at a gas station led to a shooting last month.

The shooting happened around 4:30 p.m. Sept. 16 near North 64th Street and West Silver Spring Drive.

According to police, two men had been spending time at a gas station when they were asked to leave. The men then went to another gas station across the street, where an argument broke out.

Police said one of the men pulled out a gun and opened fire, striking the other man in the right arm and right thigh.

Investigators are still working to identify the shooter.

"We need the public's help identifying the suspect in this shooting," Milwaukee Crime Stoppers' John Majerle said. "I believe the shooter lives in the area of 64th and Silver Spring due to the fact that he does hang out at the gas station and he's walking on."

Anyone with information about the shooting or the suspect's identity is asked to contact Milwaukee Crime Stoppers.

Tips can be submitted anonymously, and information leading to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward.
