MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee school is remembering a teenage boy who drowned over the weekend in Walworth County. Students and staff at Milwaukee College Prep wanted to celebrate Adebisi Agoro's life rather than mourn his death so they called the ceremony a circle of celebration.
Everyone in attendance formed a circle in the cafeteria to share memories of the 14-year-old. The boy's family was also there and released balloons in his honor.
Adebisi Agoro went under water at Peters Lake Sunday afternoon while he and other kids were playing on a floating platform. Witnesses say his life jacket came off when he jumped into the water. Divers recovered the body hours later.
“Not only was he intelligent, but he was multitalented. He could dance, he could play basketball, he could rap, he could do it all. He had such charisma and great character. Just blessed to be a part of his life as long as we have. He’s been nothing but great here at our school," said Family Engagement Coordinator at Milwaukee College Prep Jarett Williams.
Agoro planned on attending Dominican High School this fall. The family has set up a memorial fund.
