MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A campaign to collect food, supplies and PPE was a success.
The Milwaukee Turners teamed up with Ayuda Mutua Pantry and Metcalfe Park Community Bridges at Turner Hall Monday, Aug. 10.
People dropped off everything from non-perishable food to personal hygiene products and school supplies.
The goal is to get these items in the hands of families who need them most, without any barriers.
"Giving food to families without a need for registration and/or documentation or any kinds of barriers, because when we create those kinds of barriers it's a barrier between food and family, community and family," said Jeanette Arellano.
Since the first days of the pandemic, Ayuda Mutua and Metcalfe Park Community Bridges have been out delivering food and supplies to people in need.
