Milwaukee VA veteran tests positive for coronavirus

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A veteran inpatient has tested positive for the COVID-19 coronavirus at the Milwaukee's Zablocki VA Medical Center.

The hospital says the patient is being cared for in isolation by specially trained staff, and the risk of transmission to other patients and staff members remains low.

Those who may have been in close contact with the patient are being reviewed by Infection Control experts.

The Milwaukee VA is screening veterans and staff who present with symptoms that meet the CDC criteria for evaluation of COVID-19, and those known to be at risk are immediately isolated.
