Milwaukee's Pfister Hotel details $20M renovation project
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee announced a $20 million multi-phase renovation on Tuesday, July 25.
The project will see enhancements to the hotel's ballrooms, guest rooms, lobby, lobby bar, and Café at the Pfister, intended to marry the establishment's timeless quality with contemporary style and sophistication.
According to the Tuesday press release discussing the renovation, the efforts started in June, focusing initially on revitalizing the hotel's ballrooms and meeting spaces. Intending to establish a refined color palette, these rooms will feature wallcoverings, tailored drapery and historic fixtures.
Expanded restroom facilities, updated climate controls, private entrances and enhanced Wi-Fi and conferencing capabilities are also part of the upgrade plan.
Work on the hotel's guest rooms will follow, expected to begin this autumn. The Pfister says that each room will see improvements, including custom-designed carpeting, improved furnishings, new bar areas and entirely new bathrooms with modern lighting fixtures.
The final phase of renovations, set to begin in early 2024, will upgrade the lobby and first-floor public spaces with an aim to provide upgrades that will complement the hotel's iconic domed ceiling.
All renovation phases are projected to conclude by spring 2024.
