Milwaukee's streetcar 'The Hop' L-Line route opens to riders

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee's streetcar "The Hop" is on track for its first expansion.

The new L-Line Route is open to riders starting today, Sunday, Oct. 29. 

The city's Department of Public Works says more people have been taking The Hop, especially during Summerfest.

For now, the L-Line is only stopping at Michigan and Jackson, and Clybourn by the Johnson Control Headquarters.

This is also only happening on Sundays, but officials say full service is expected to start in April.
