MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Miss Wisconsin Organization has announced its representatives for the upcoming Miss America 2024 competition.

Miss Wisconsin 2023, Lila Szyryj, and Miss Wisconsin’s Teen 2023, Trinity Horstman, are set to compete in Orlando, Fla. during the week of January 6 - 14, 2024. The event will see contestants from across the nation vying for the coveted Miss America and Miss America’s Teen titles.

Szyryj, a 22-year-old University of Wisconsin-Madison alumna, will showcase her classical piano talent during the competition. Her focus this year has been on promoting media literacy through her initiative "Breaking Down Breaking News."

Horstman, a 17-year-old senior at Holmen High School, will perform a tap dance routine. Her community service initiative supports the Children’s Miracle Network.

Miss America 2023, Grace Stanke, who was Miss Wisconsin 2022, will crown her successor at the event. Stanke's win last December marked the third time a representative from Wisconsin clinched the national title.
