MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Amid a massive technology outage, Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport is telling travelers not to come to the airport Friday if their flight is delayed or cancelled.

Several major airlines have grounded flights, closing some airports entirely, as a Microsoft outage is impacting communications and operations for users worldwide.

MKE spokesperson Harold Mester said in a statement early Friday morning:

There is currently a worldwide ground stop affecting some of the airlines serving MKE. Anyone flying today should check their flight status before leaving for the airport. If their flight is delayed or canceled, they should not come to the airport and should instead keep in touch with their airline for further information.
