More than 750,000 estimated to have attended Brewers championship celebration
CBS 58 MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — Milwaukee has been the center of the baseball world since the Brewers captured the first World Series championship in franchise history, and on Friday, the city showed up in historic numbers to celebrate.
The Milwaukee Police Department estimates more than three-quarters of a million people attended the Brewers' championship parade through downtown Milwaukee and the rally at Henry Maier Festival Park.
Fans packed streets along the parade route as players, coaches and team personnel carried the World Series trophy through the city before the celebration culminated with a championship rally at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater.
Preliminary research indicates Friday's celebration may have drawn the largest crowd for a single-day event in Wisconsin history.
