According to Shatara Office, one of the suspects was her son 19-year-old Kenneth Rogers,  and his 22-year-old cousin.

"I believe the police overdid it," said Office.

Office said her son is now suffering from internal bleeding from several gunshot wounds.

"As he was running, they shot him in his back twice and then multiple shots after that," said Office.

At around 3:00 a.m., Milwaukee police said in a press conference that they tried to pull over a stolen car wanted in connection to a shooting on 91st and Silver Spring. The driver did not stop which led to a police chase. Stop sticks were then deployed on 68th and Hampton. The chase ending in a crash over 15 blocks away near 51st sand Hampton.

Police say the two men then fled on foot.

"Early information indicates that one of the suspects that was carrying a visible firearm and refused to drop the weapon despite multiple verbal commands from the police," said Milwaukee police Chief Jeffrey Norman.

Chief Norman would not comment if the weapon was pointed at police. He said a gun was found near the suspect. Office said she doesn't believe her son would pose a threat to police.

Two officers were put on administrative leave, but Office said more needs to be done.
