MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee police officer reportedly shot and wounded a man who ran from a traffic stop on Wednesday, Sept. 17.
Officials report the stop happened about 11:27 p.m. near 11th and Greenfield. The driver ran from the car and officers chased him on foot. During the chase, the 21-year-old man dropped a gun and tried to grab it again. An officer fired, hitting him.
The man was taken to a hospital with injuries described as not life-threatening. His gun was recovered, and prosecutors are expected to review charges.
The 26-year-old officer has been with the department for six years. He was placed on administrative duty while the incident is investigated.
