MPD: Driver and passenger die after driver in stolen vehicle runs red light, crashes near 60th and Capitol

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police say the 18-year-old driver who was left in critical condition after Friday's crash died from his injuries on Saturday, June 19.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- An 18-year-old man is dead and another is hurt following a crash involving a stolen vehicle near 60th and Capitol. 

According to the Milwaukee Police Department, the crash happened just before 1:30 a.m. on Friday, June 18. 

Police say the driver of the stolen Honda Civic was struck by another vehicle at the intersection and then the Civic struck a pole. 

Officials had to extricate the 18-year-old driver and his 18-year-old passenger. The passenger died from his injuries. He was identified by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office as Tremayne T. Postlewaite Jr. 

The driver was left in critical condition. 

The driver of the vehicle that was struck in the intersection did not request medical attention. 

An investigation is ongoing.
