MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) was not able to deliver their financial data to the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) by today's date, May 16.
In a statement, MPS says they want to make sure they get things right, to quote "the data set is large and complex, and our team is working to clean up historical records to ensure accuracy."
This is the latest chapter from a crisis that saw the district's previous superintendent resign - and the state claw back funding.
MPS says they're continuing to communicate with DPI and will work to get them the required data as soon as possible.
