MSOE holds ribbon-cutting for new music conservatory

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee School of Engineering held a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house Monday night, Oct. 23, for their new Conservatory of Music.

Officials cut the ribbon for the Patricia E. Kern Conservatory, which will house the music programs at the school.

The school says the conservatory was built in 1905 and was once a privately-owned residence.

It marks the first time MSOE has had a permanent, dedicated space on its campus for students to pursue their musical passions.

There are several ensembles at MSOE, including the concert band, jazz ensemble, string orchestra, concert choir, pep band and jazz combo.
