WAUWATOSA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- This week, we have a happy update to a recent Natalie's Everyday Heroes.

Students at Wauwatosa West High School have been nominated for several awards for their production of Frozen.

This comes after a sold-out run. We sat down with theater director Adam Steffan to talk about the successful show.

"What an incredible experience for, not only our students, but our community. Our Wauwatosa community showed up for Frozen," Steffan said of the experience.

The last time our cameras caught up with the cast of Frozen at Tosa West, they were entering the final week of rehearsals.

All that hard work and preparation transformed into an eye-popping production of the Disney musical.

"It was beyond," Steffan said.

Steffan oversaw the production from start to finish.

"I think now, looking back at the entire experience, I'm able to say it really transcended any sort of expectations that we had," he said.

The show had 43 students on stage, playing the music, and running the technical production.

They covered every detail, down to Elsa's iconic transformation.

They performed eight sold-out shows to 7,000 people. Steffan sees the ways in which the successful run has impacted his students.

"I see it in my students. The confidence, the ability to say that they were part of something incredible," he said.

But it's not just Mr. Steffan who thinks so.

The Jerry Awards recognize excellence in high school theater in Wisconsin.

"Students, actors, technicians, pit orchestra, musicians," he said of those nominated.

Frozen's cast and crew were nominated for more than a dozen awards.

"Everybody recognized something special was happening here at Tosa West," he said.

The awards will be announced in May. The students will get to go to the awards ceremony in Madison, and also perform. For more information on the Jerry Awards, click here

The school also applied to take Frozen to the International Thespian Festival. They should find out if they've been selected later this month.
