MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Nearly 20,000 people gathered at the Baird Center in Milwaukee this weekend for Anime Milwaukee.
It's the conventions 16th year of celebrating all things anime and Japanese culture.
This event features cosplay contests, merch vendors, video game rooms, and so much more.
Organizers say this year's attendance was more than they expected, but with the Baird Center's expansion, they don't think that will be a problem next year.
With an interest in anime growing every year, the convention is a great way to find people.
"Make friends and be able to share those experiences and having something like Japanese culture in the area here and people really get to share that passion is great because we get to introduce people to something new and really develops the community, it helps the local businesses as well, when people come out to support them. So, it's a great opportunity, great social experience for everyone," said Luke Marsden, communications director with Anime Milwaukee.
If you missed the last couple days, don't worry. The convention continues tomorrow from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
