(NEW BERLIN) - It's okay to be different. That's the message Amy Jandrisevits is sending with her creations. She's at the helm of A Doll Like Me. Handcrafted dolls made with love that resemble the person they go home to.
The former pediatric oncology social worker says she used to use dolls in play therapy with her clients but noticed the children never saw themselves reflected in the flawless designs of modern dolls. That’s when she had the idea to make them herself.
Now, after discovering a huge demand and already crafting hundreds of custom dolls for children with nonstandard features Amy is making the dolls her primary goal and encouraging people everywhere to celebrate their differences one doll at a time.
