New Berlin man killed after being struck by vehicle in Walworth County, driver arrested

WALWORTH COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 65-year-old New Berlin man was killed Thursday, April 30, after being struck by a vehicle in the Town of Troy. 

First responders arrived at the scene near Highway 20 and Townline Road just before 10 a.m., according to the Walworth County Sheriff's Office, after callers reported that a vehicle traveling westbound struck a man. Officials say the driver returned to the scene and waited for emergency services to arrive. 

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The sheriff's office says the driver, identified as a 50-year-old man from Oklahoma, was arrested for homicide by negligent use of a motor vehicle. 

An investigation is ongoing.
