We Energies employee struck, killed by vehicle in Walworth County, driver arrested

WALWORTH COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The union the 65-year-old victim was a part of identified him Thursday as Timothy Johnson.
We Energies says he was doing survey work when he was hit by a car along Highway 20 in the Town of Troy.
The driver, a 50-year-old man from Oklahoma, has been arrested for homicide by negligent use of a vehicle.
Timothy's visitation and burial will take place early next week in Waukesha.

WALWORTH COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A We Energies employee was killed while working Thursday, April 30, after being struck by a vehicle in the Town of Troy.
The Walworth County Sheriff's Office identified the victim as a 65-year-old New Berlin man Friday. First responders arrived at the scene near Highway 20 and Townline Road just before 10 a.m., according to the sheriff's office, after callers reported a vehicle traveling westbound struck a man. Officials say the driver returned to the scene and waited for emergency services to arrive.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The sheriff's office says the driver, identified as a 50-year-old man from Oklahoma, was arrested for homicide by negligent use of a motor vehicle.
We Energies says the employee was conducting survey work when the crash occurred. In a statement Friday, a company spokesperson said in part:
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the employee's family, friends and coworkers...We remind all drivers to please slow down around workers."
