MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police are searching for a driver who fled after a fatal crash Tuesday, July 21, near North Green Bay Avenue and Cornell Street.

Police say a driver was heading north on Green Bay at high speeds around 6:56 p.m. when they crashed into another vehicle carrying two people.

The passenger in that vehicle, a 50-year-old, died at a local hospital. The 36-year-old driver was taken into custody on charges related to the incident, which are pending review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.

The driver who caused the initial crash reportedly fled the scene and has not yet been identified.
