MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Zoo is celebrating the birth of a new giraffe.
The female giraffe was born last week to Marlee and dad, Bahatika. She already weighs 174 pounds and is more than 6 feet tall. The new giraffe is the second calf for Marlee and the fourth for Bahatika.
Medical staff has been monitoring the calf and say the new baby is in good health.
The Zoo currently has six giraffes: adults Bahatika, Marlee, Ziggy, Rahna; Kazi, who was born in September 2017; and the newborn.
