Packers beat Bears for ninth straight time in first game of Love era

CHICAGO, Ill (CBS 58) - The Jordan Love era for the Green Bay Packers starts out with a win.

The Packers defeated the Chicago Bears 38-20 on the road to open the 2023 NFL Season.

Jordan Love completes 15 of 27 passes for 245 passing yards and three touchdowns in just his second career start.

Aaron Jones was the offensive sparkplug for the green and gold with 11 total touches for 127 total yards and two total touchdowns. He did leave the game following his second score in the third quarter with a hamstring injury and did not return.

Romeo Doubs led the receiving core as the Packers played without Christian Watson, out with a hamstring injury, with 4 catches for 26 yards and two touchdowns.

The Packers defense holds the Bears to just two touchdowns. Quay Walker returned an interception for a touchdown in the fourth quarter and Rasul Douglas recovered a fumble forced by Kenny Clark in the third quarter.

Devonte Wyatt, Lukas Van Ness, Karl Brooks and Kenny Clark all got to Bears quarterback Justin Fields for four team sacks.

The Packers start the season 1-0 and travel to Atlanta for their second straight road game on Sept. 17.
