WAUWATOSA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- No-knock search warrants by police remain in place in Wauwatosa.
An alderperson discussed the idea of banning them on Tuesday, June 8. However, the Government Affairs Committee tabled the issue.
Instead, the committee voted to revisit the issue within 90 days of the city hiring a new police chief.
"Just a few weeks before a new chief is hired," an alderperson said. "I think this is certainly a topic that if we continue to have discussions, we should be having with the new chief."
The city expects to hire a new police chief by the end of the month.
