MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- All four men charged with felony murder for the death D'Vontaye Mitchell pleaded not guilty in court on Thursday, Aug. 22.

Mitchell was restrained outside the Hyatt in downtown Milwaukee back in June, and the events leading up to his death were recorded on surveillance video.

Two of the men had their bonds reduced.

It was an emotional day for Mitchell's mother as she said the city could be in danger with her son's accused murderers able to pay their way out of jail with lower bonds.

Todd Erickson, Devin Johnson-Carson, Herbert Williamson and Brandon Turner all pleaded not guilty Thursday morning.

Johnson-Carson and Williamson paid bond and have been out of jail for many days now.

Attorneys asked for Erickson and Turner's bond to be reduced, from $50,000 to $30,000.

The judge said he believes the two men have showed they've complied with the legal process and lowered both cash to $5,000.

The Mitchell family's attorney told CBS 58 that's not high enough.

"To talk about homicide, on video, that has made national headlines, that has outraged our country, to see $5,000 be administered for the people who are most culpable, we just think it’s outrageous it’s insane and just a complete injustice to D’Vontaye Mitchell’s family," said B'Ivory LaMarr, Mitchell family attorney.

All four men have appeared in court together during the various hearings thus far. That could change as Mitchell's attorney pointed out, all four men have varying roles in restraining Mitchell outside the Hyatt hotel on June 30.

All four men will appear together for a status conference on Oct. 15.
