MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A festive holiday stage celebration will take place in Milwaukee on Saturday, Dec. 6 with a performance at 8 p.m. at the Miller High Life Theatre.

Now in its 33rd year, "Nutcracker! Magical Christmas Ballet" is billed to feature more than 40 professional ballet artists from over 10 countries. New choreography by Ukrainian choreographer Viktor Davydiuk brings fresh staging to the classic Christmas tale.

According to a press release announcing the show, the performance includes the "Doves of Peace" acro-ballet adagio during Act II’s "Land of Peace and Harmony," a segment highlighting themes of unity and compassion.

The production also is set to include elaborate marionettes, large-scale puppets and set design from artists in Czechoslovakia, South Africa and St. Petersburg.

Organizers say the show blends classical ballet technique with theatrical effects to create a holiday experience rooted in tradition.

Tickets go on sale Friday, April 4 at 10 a.m. More information can be found by clicking here.
