Meet CBS 58’s Pet of the Week: Snoopy
OCONOMOWOC, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Recovery efforts are still ongoing in California from January's wildfires out west.
On Monday, a group of local elementary school students showed you're never too young to start helping those in need.
Two 4th grade students at Summit Elementary School in Oconomowoc raised nearly $600 on their own to support victims of the California wildfires.
"I felt really bad," said 4th grader Bella. "I was like, what if that was me? So then next week we wrote a letter to the Red Cross and decided to start a donation."
"I just felt really hurt," said 4th grader Violet. "We have all of this, but the other people lost their homes and food and water, and I just felt hurt."
The money went to the American Red Cross, which is still working around the clock with partners to support recovery efforts.
