OCONOMOWOC, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Oconomowoc police are asking for the community's help in obtaining home surveillance video that may assist their investigation into an incident that occurred early Friday, Sept. 25. 

Police say just before 1:30 a.m., they received a report of an unknown person walking with an airsoft rifle and machete in the area of 2nd and Franklin Street. 

The police department says they're aware of reports circulating that suggest this may have been connected to a Homecoming-related activity. An investigation is underway to determine what -if any- connection exists, however they do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the community.

Residents in the area of 2nd, 3rd, and Franklin streets are asked to check home security systems, doorbell cameras, and any other surveillance footage between roughly 9:30 p.m., Sept. 24 and 2 a.m. Sept. 25. 

Investigators are looking for video of any individuals in the area at that time, vehicles traveling through, and any other activity that may assist in the investigation.
