Officials: 2 hospitalized, 5 dogs dead in Waukesha house fire

WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Two people have been hospitalized and five dogs are dead after a Waukesha house fire on Friday, June 11.

Fire officials say it happened at 11:45 p.m. in the 1800 block of DeWitt Court.

The Waukesha Fire Department says a garage fire extended into the home.

The two occupants were able to evacuate the home. The two were transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening burn injuries.

Officials were able to get the fire under control in 30 minutes. During search operations, five dead dogs were found inside the home.
