Officials: 4 in custody after stolen vehicle pursuit in Sheboygan, Ozaukee Counties
OZAUKEE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Four people were taken into custody after leading authorities on a chase in a stolen vehicle in Ozaukee County Monday, Dec. 7.
According to the Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office, the pursuit started in Sheboygan County. The suspect vehicle, a Chevrolet Uplander van listed stolen out of Milwaukee, exited I-43 southbound at County Highway D, traveled over the median, down an embankment, and came to a final resting point in the ravine behind the Belgium Inn and Suites motel located at 120 Lakeview Drive in the Village of Belgium.
Ozaukee County officials say three people inside the vehicle were immediately taken into custody. A fourth person fled on foot westbound and was found a short time later riding a stolen bicycle.
All four people were turned over the Sheboygan County Sheriff's Office. Additional charges regarding the traffic crash, stolen bicycle, and
eluding/resisting are being forwarded to the Ozaukee County District Attorney’s Office by the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office.
The Port Washington Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Belgium Fire Department, and Port Washington Fire Department assisted with the incident.
