Ohio man arrested after vandalizing multiple semi-truck tail lights in Racine County

RACINE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- An Ohio man has been taken into custody after police say he vandalized the tail lights on at least 9 different semi-trucks in Caledonia.

Terry Pierce of Spencerville Ohio is facing charges of Felony Criminal Damage to Property. 

According to the criminal complaint, officers responded to an address on Northwestern Avenue for a vandalism report on June 27.

The caller told police that a heavy-set man in his 50's or 60's with a crew cut had vandalized multiple truck tail lights. The man had then left the scene and was located nearby.

The man who was later identified as Pierce, a truck driver from Ohio, appeared to be intoxicated.

Investigation revealed that several tail lights had been shattered and others had been popped from their weather seals. The 9 victims involved wished to press charges.

The damage to the nine semi-trucks was estimated to be in the total amount of $4,500.

Officers also located a claw hammer in Pierce's truck.
