GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) – Green Bay Packers Legend LeRoy Butler is tying the knot this weekend in a place he once called home, Lambeau Field, and he’s letting his fans be part of the experience.

In his glory days, Former Packer LeRoy Butler brought fans out to Lambeau to watch him on the field. Now, they’ll be seeing him up close and personal on his wedding day.

“I think this is unprecedented -- a Packer player having it at Lambeau field and having so many people from the public,” Butler said.

Butler is known for the Lambeau Leap and on Saturday, he and his bride-to-be Genesis will be taking the leap of a lifetime at his wedding inside the Lambeau Field Atrium.

“Ultimately it’s for her. I want her to be excited, be happy,” Butler said.

Butler has been selling and giving away tickets to his wedding for months. Most of the money will go to the Salvation Army, Hunger Task Force, and Friends of Autism.

“I really felt like my career is based on the fans, so it was only right for me to let them attend,” Butler said.

Photographer Robert Salbreiter of Salbreiter Photography will capture the moment Saturday.

“I am incredibly honored to be shooting this wedding. In my mind, this is like the Wisconsin version of the Royal Wedding,” Salbreiter said.

He shot the couple’s engagement photos.

“They are a very cute and loving couple,” Robert Salbreiter. “They complement each other very well. You can tell they’re very much in love and this is for a lifetime.”

Butler is used to getting his picture on the field, but on Saturday, it will be with his beautiful bride. They’re planning to recreate the famous Lambeau Leap too.

Tickets for the wedding are sold out.
