GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Sargento will donate $2,000 toward hunger relief for every touchdown the Green Bay Packers score this regular season, as the "Touchdowns for Hunger" program is scheduled to return for its 24th year.

Donations are split between Hunger Task Force in Milwaukee and Paul's Pantry in Green Bay. Last season, the Packers scored 48 touchdowns across the regular season and postseason, resulting in a $96,000 donation, according to a Tuesday, Sept. 8 press release announcing the program.

"'Touchdowns for Hunger' allows us to raise awareness of food insecurity in the place we call home, while at the same time rooting for our home team," said Louie Gentine, Sargento's chairman and CEO.

Since the program launched in 2003, the Packers have scored 1,252 touchdowns, with Sargento donating for each one. The program has raised nearly $2 million and provided more than 1 million meals for Wisconsin families, according to Sargento.
