Packers Doubs returns to practice following suspension
GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Green Bay Packers wide receiver room was more intact as the Packers hit the practice field on Wednesday, Oct. 9.
Wideout Romeo Doubs was back on the field following his Week 5 suspension for 'conduct detrimental' to the team.
Doubs did not speak to the media Wednesday, but the team was excited to have him back.
"It happened, it's in the past. I think everyone is excited to have him back. I think we just move forward with it and learn and grow from the situation," said Packers quarterback Jordan Love.
Neither Love nor Packers head coach Matt LaFleur wanted to get into any specifics on if Doubs addressed the team in anyway on his return.
LaFleur appreciates that players have personal goals but wants them to remember the team goals and winning are most important.
Both LaFleur and Love added it all serves as a good reminder.
"You got to communicate and if there is an issue you got to communicate and work it out together unfortunately there's a level - there's a standard you have to live by and if you don't there's going to be consequences. I've made that very clear to our team. there's a level of professionalism," said LaFleur. "Each moment is a learning experience. like I mentioned last week it was a one off and we're moving forward."
"I definitely as a quarterback I always want the guys on the team, the guys on the offense who I'm throwing the ball to have that open door for them to come talk to me about anything about any situation that might be going through that," said Love. "It's one of those situations I love those guys to walk and talk to me just so we can be on the same page because I think if we have a good relationship, everything will be better for that."
Before the suspension. Doubs was second on the Packers in targets, receptions, and receiving yards.
Also, back on the field on Wednesday was fellow wide receiver Christian Watson. He left the contest with the Minnesota Vikings with an ankle injury and did not practice at all last week. He was listed as a limited participant.
